Canon Vixia HF200 Camcorder Review

With the Canon Vixia HF200 Camcorder you can expect recording rates at about 5.5 minutes per gigabyte (at 24mpbs) and 7.8 minutes per gigabyte (at 17mbps). This model camcorder focuses swiftly and sharply even in bad lighting conditions. The batteries can last up to 1.5 hours on a single charge and if this is not enough, batteries with higher capacities are available from the manufacturer where some has double the capacity.
Canon Vixia HF200 Camcorder produces very sharp video that has well saturated colors, and excellent exposures with few out-of-proportion highlights. The DigicDV 3 processing performs well and does a great job maximizing dynamic range. This model is able to perform well in a variety of lighting scenarios without having to go through a whole series of complicated settings. The audio quality is also very good, with crisp and sharp tones while recording very little background noise.
The HF200 features a wide array of controls, including white balance controls, image effects, digital effects, video quality, still-photo size, program, and a handful of scene mode options. It also allows for aperture-priority and real shutter modes. The shutter speed ranges are 1/8 to 1/2000 second and the aperture options range from f1.8 to f8. All of these features give the operator great control over the video and shot quality. One of the coolest features of the Canon Vixia HF200 Camcorder is the Video Snapshots mode. This feature allows the shooter to record 4-second clips that can be enhanced and made entertaining through editing and the adding in of music clips.
